These two teenage boys may have killed me. They were, after all, planning to carry out a suicide bombing at a Jewish event I attended here in Ottawa. Because of this, I remember the case quite clearly. What this article leaves out is the fact that the parents of these youth helped radicalize them — but they'll face no criminal charges or consequences. One of the fathers involved, for instance, who is from Iraq, made appalling social media posts about "Zionists" and Jews, suggesting that all Israelis should be murdered. It's a good thing both of these terrorists will spend some time behind bars, but they won't be in there forever, and the households they return to will likely remain cesspools of Islamic extremism. We need to get serious about addressing the root cause here. Right now, we're playing jihadi Whack-a-Mole, and that can only do so much, for so long. Rioters with Palestinian flags burnt down this building in Limoges, France tonight. It was built in 1873 by a generation of French men born just after the Napoleonic wars.

French news CNews reported this morning that the rioters had addresses of Jewish shop owners and that, on one Marseille street, all Jewish-owned businesses were set on fire while Muslim-owned ones were not.
