@BrentToderian @frankmcdonald60 Closer to home, another example worth looking at is when Madrid took the N30 ring road and put it under ground (as the M30 in 2000) and pedestrianised the river banks in front of the royal palace. Similar before and after pictures. I'll see if I can find them.
