@BrianRoemmele I remember the Intel representatives discussing AMT, 20 years ago during a roadmap presentation, as a hardware feature intended to improve resilience against malware. As is the case in human interactions, an ally can be turned into an opponent.

@BrianRoemmele Let me start questioning this post by pointing out there are cast iron pans in the dishwasher, then move to the fact that the first cycle that most dish washers run is a rinse cycle.

@thecyberfam @mattwr F5 network load balancers are what large scale operators use to aggregate multiple network circuits into what looks like a single higher speed circuit. There are lower cost consumer class switches that can create link aggregation.

@sudoingX A GPU would wait and therefore waste 90% of its processing capacity if it used the fastest DDR5 DIMMS. In order to reduce latency and increase throughput, high bandwidth memory is located as close to the GPU as possible with precisely sized data paths.

@chanduuu_cs The memory elements that make up bits are arranged in equal sized rows and columns on the silicon chip. When magnified the memory chip looks like a square with precisely organized dots. This is why capacity equal 2 to the X power.

@Hired_Sellout A $20 scanner and an app on a phone can provide the codes. Better than 50% of the time it’s something simple. 20% of the time it’s an intermittent challenge even for an experienced tech.

@c0nscioushealth The bulb in that illustration is only drawing a fraction of the current it was likely intended to draw to provide the intended illumination. Incandescent bulbs can last thousands of hours with more durable filaments, but it’s been my experience that they consume more power.

@Packagingbook23 @davepl1968 Agree, we had to at least make a few SWAGs, or scientific wild ass guesses to create a rough algorithm before refining it and applying individual mathematical calculations.

@nicogambles This is the house I paid $45,000 for in 1985 making 16K a year plus working as much overtime as I could get. Groceries cost about $50 a week. Ate at home, 12 year old truck, no vacation trips until 1989.

@hxxntrr Where can I deposit 40,000 in a savings account accruing 4.25% interest? Maybe a bond or a certificate of deposit but those are not FDIC insured.

@FreedomMemesIRL @grok You said that not me. I was sharing my hands on experience with 60 year old systems. We got a lot of work done on systems with less computing power than a thermostat, in the 1960s, because the code was focused on calculations, not making them easy to use.

@MuffinsNsuch There has been a high demand for base stripped trucks, but the manufacturers know they can sell all the loaded models they can build. They advertise base pickups, but have none is stock at the dealerships

@openureyes_7777 @The_Big_Chifa_ The first season of the unit was outstanding. When the wives got involved in operations in seasons 2&3 it went downhill.
