@JonathanShedler Lately your writing is smoother and softer (in a good way) and just wanted to say how much I enjoyed it 🙏🏽
@JonathanShedler I was just talking about this today- the numbers of people who diagnose ppl around them with narcissism and the numbers of people who identify attachment disorders now. I don’t blame them - it’s social media. But I’m breaking things down so often now to get beyond these labels.
@JonathanShedler It's so commonly used between people who have no idea what it means... even as a one off behaviour. Like resilience and trauma... overused and diluted now.
@JonathanShedler I think the meme that "everyone says their ex is a narcissist but narcissists are rare" was created by narcissists as cover. Full on NPDs might be rarer than run of the mill narcissists, but regular ol' narcissists can be quite narcissistic, narcissism being on a spectrum.
@JonathanShedler Most accusations of narcissism on social media need a community note
@JonathanShedler This is my pet peeve especially among my own generation who constantly throw out this word in social media posts to the point it's really devalued the true psychological meaning. @JonathanShedler there needs to be a public education campaign at this point.
@JonathanShedler But then you also have the subclinical levels.
@JonathanShedler But you gotta admit, "narcissism" is waaaaay sexier to say and type than "emotionally immature" 😉
