To be very clear: the coal industry is dying. Joe Manchin can’t save it any more than Donald Trump could. Worse, West Virginia politicians are propping the rotting husk of that industry up by pushing higher electric bills on widely poor West Virginians. mountainstatespotlight.org/2021/03/11/wes…
And he’s not alone. You know why Manchin thinks “bipartisanship” is real? Because in his state there is a bipartisan determination to artificially prop up coal by any means necessary, even at the expense of capitalism and common sense. Of course socialism for Big Coal is cool 👍🏿
@JoyAnnReid @MarilynCapps Damn, it's almost like politicians don't really care about the people who elect them. Weird
@JoyAnnReid It couldn't be clearer. Build Back Better takes from the rich and gives to the less affluent. Corporate tax cuts take from the less affluent and gives to the rich. The contrast between parties is stark. You either back Robin Hood or the Sheriff of Nottingham. #BuildBackBetter
@JoyAnnReid You know, if solar panels started to appear on some of these Republican shacks and it was saving them money immediately they’d be more apt to sway in the Democrats direction.. see this is what they are, what they do, and you can build them and make a decent living
