The opposite side carries the same story into the technological age. XRP is the native digital asset of the XRP Ledger, a decentralized network built for rapid exchange and settlement of value. Ripple develops financial infrastructure that can use blockchain technology, the XRPL, and XRP in certain payment and liquidity applications. Symbolically, XRP represents another evolution in the rails through which value can move globally. The connection is not that the Templars predicted XRP. It is an analogy across time. The Templars used the tools of their age to make long-distance movement and protection of wealth more practical. Modern blockchain networks seek to transform those rails again.
