In one of the first techno-imperialism, the US got hold of IBM machines and used punch cards to keep track of every person in the Philippines. And the punch card database was used to commit mass atrocities (think "G"-word).
And to make sure that the average American citizen didn't feel about all the terrible human rights violations, the US portrayed Filipinos as "savages." They even brought children 👇and families from the Philippines and displayed them in "human zoos" in the US. Really!
