A little over a year ago, my wife was zooming with her mom when I heard her laughing. So I went over and said hi to her. We chatted for a minute, and then I figured I was taking over the call, so I waved and said, "I love you, mom," and went about my way. Shortly after that, she got a UTI, which spiraled out of control, and before we knew it, she was on her deathbed. I couldn't get there before she was in the hospice, unable to speak. About 4 days later, she passed. The last words she ever heard me say to her were, "I love you, Mom." Now, I make sure it's the last thing I say to the people I love.
@KellyScaletta This entire thread wrecks me. In the last 5 years I've lost my mom and dad, an aunt and uncle, three friends, my father in law, a grandma, a son in law, three dogs and four cats. ❤️Hugs to everyone❤️
@KellyScaletta The last conversation with my Dad was not pleasant, as I sadly recall .. he had a heart attack driving home from work just days later and there was no opportunity for even rectifying the situation, much less tell him I loved him. Haunted by this for almost 30 years
@KellyScaletta I never got the snowball from my daughter so I know. She went to sleep on the 20th and never woke up. 😢😔
@KellyScaletta I'm so sorry for your loss. Coincidentally, my BIL's father died earlier this week. A month ago he had an uncontrollable UTI. His kidneys shut down. His potassium was sky high & ultimately died from a heart attack. I had no idea how bad UTIs are in the elderly. Another level.
@KellyScaletta Cranbbery juice helps remove bacteria from the bladder. Also, when mixing 100% cranberry juice with soda pop, it flushes the kidney pretty fast. Best is keep drinking 1~ 2 oz after the initial glass every 5mn till urine goes back to normal, the pain go away. + Thyme, oregano tea
