The Chicago Police Department would like to thank everyone who has offered support as we grieve the loss Police Officer Luis M. Huesca. We honor the life of a hero who will never be forgotten.
Yet another one from Saturday morning at Ponden Reservoir. I love the ghostly mist on the water, which only lasted a couple of minutes and then was gone.
The soft, ethereal, dream-like quality of this photograph makes it look part painting and part half-remembered dream. It was taken 114 years ago, by Heinrich Kühn, and is an original colour autochrome from 1908. (It is not colourised) 😍
The Chicago Police Department Honor Guard concluded its 24-hour vigil at Gold Star Memorial Park this morning. We grieve the loss of the 601 courageous officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in service of our City. We forever hold their families and loved ones in our hearts.
