Carla Chrisco of Lake Charles, LA describes watching her friend and neighbor, Cheryl Ware of last week’s post, sift through her possessions after Hurricanes Laura and Delta.
Cheryl Ware gutted her home after Hurricane Delta rained through the holes in her roof, the ones left by Hurricane Laura a month before.
Jacob Percle talks about coming home to a city torn down by two hurricanes in two months. Some residents of Lake Charles live with friends or family while their homes are repaired. Others are leaving permanently.
As residents continue to clean up from their second hurricane of the season, many Lake Charles homes have been gutted due to water damage, leaving insulation, furniture and other possessions on the curb to be collected.
A generous neighbor and servant of LC who was a great mayor. I couldn’t make it down to LC, and he helped my family clean up the house and debris. Grateful for this man’s help. #LakeCharlesStrong
This week I spoke with Randy Roach of Lake Charles, LA. He discussed the trauma of Hurricane Laura arriving so soon on the heels of Hurricane Rita, which made landfall 15 years ago. Lake Charles was struck by another storm, cat 2 Hurricane Delta, last night.

As the city continues to clean up and rebuild from Hurricane Laura, I interviewed Mark Trosclair, Andre Davis and Chad Wendt, three contractors in Lake Charles, LA.
"That was the greatest relief we could have gotten, was being told your house is standing." Sam Pierce describes gutting his house to prevent water damage and the feeling of almost losing his home to the storm. Weeks after Hurricane Laura, residents are still recovering.
Jahmal Labbe describes the shared sense of loss present in Lake Charles
#Sally remains a category 2 hurricane. It has slowed down to a movement of 3 mph and is expected to continue at a slow pace, with dangerous flooding becoming more likely. Our live coverage continues.
