@DavidCornDC *All* of those who believe he should bow out should stop opining anonymously.

@NancySinatra Absolutely! But we (sadly) know how hard it is to get a constitutional amendment passed, so don't hold your breath.

@coolhandluke246 A judge cannot dismiss the charges. A judge *can* issue a judgment notwithstanding the verdict. In the (highly) unlikely event that that should occur, Trump is, in fact, a convicted felon.

@DavidCornDC I always enjoyed his work, and was delighted at his appearances this past season on "Not Dead Yet" (S.1, Eps. 1, 5 & 9). (If you haven't seen it, you're missing out! It's well-written, well-cast--and has great guest stars, is wicked funny, and has been renewed for next season!)

@JohnWDean It absolutely should not be lifted. The prosecutors' objections are spot on.

@3MC223 @DavidCornDC Just googled it and she hasn't yet said anything about it. It would sure be great if she withdrew her pledge to vote for him.

@RpsAgainstTrump As if one has anything to do with the other .... Eric needs to shut his mouth and recede into the background. NOT a good representative for the family. (As if I actually care.)

@morgfair It doesn't matter. The law prescribes the sentencing options, including incarceration. Trump and his attorneys (and others) can say whatever they want but it's totally at the judge's discretion. He has a fair amount of leeway. It'll be very interesting to see what he decides.

@KATUNews I hope they consider de-privatizing the utilities! Stopping the need to keep shareholders happy would allow the companies to return to realistic pricing.

@JNzlstar @thejackhopkins It doesn't matter, Jeanne. There's nothing in the Constitution barring a felon from being elected (and serving as) President. (I wish it weren't so! I have less than no use for DJT.)

@bluebirdisms @thejackhopkins It *is* hard to believe ... but remember that the Founding Fathers didn't have any reason to think we'd ever come to this. (And I suspect, in the current climate, it would be difficult to pass a new amendment changing the restrictions against holding(y) federal office.)

@RobertA92451253 @thejackhopkins The Constitution doesn't prohibit it, and that's the only reason that matters.

@patlicata @SenWhitehouse Judges are not selected through due process. They are elected by the voters. Judges are assigned to cases through a variety of methods (depending on the court) but they don't choose which cases they hear.
