The reverse is also true. It took me a long time to recognize, without context, that terse emails are "efficient" and not am indicator that someone is displeased with me. I may have also overcorrected for a bit and then not recognized when someone actually was...

Working from a place of scarcity and/or fear is something I have always struggled with. i.e. housing is unstable, so having a hard time focusing at work. Got in trouble at work, now work is even more affected plus I'm second-guessing, also unstable. How to interrupt the pattern?!

The idea that adults shouldn't need clear rewards, sensory-friendly spaces, or work that's fun and engaging is toxic AF. It also leads to all kinds of internalized ableism for ADHD and autistic folks who definitely benefit from them

If you relate to tweets about ADHD or highly suspect you have it, don't let that thought go. If you leave it for later, you'll forget, swept under the rug. That's what our brain does. Many of us wish we had known sooner. It could have saved us a lot of angst and suffering.

I missed my last 2 (ADHD) therapy appointments. I almost missed the last one before that. And missed the one before that. I have an appointment in 30 minutes and I am horrified. My hands are sweating.
