@RCollEM @CommonsHealth @AndrewGeorge_ The number of beds to get back to 85% occupancy is about 10,000. Sounds a lot? Not really, it's 1-3 extra wards per hospital. Of course the ultimate root cause of this is a reduction in number of beds, a reduction in social care provision, and a lack of availability of carers and care homes. You know who to thank for that. However we cannot go on leaving the highest risk patients for ED to manage.

In a child with fever and a rash, apply the glass test. If the rash is still visible with pressure, this is called a non-blanching rash which can be a sign of meningitis (or meningococcal sepsis) ⚠️
