Match week is next week, where med students across the country find out if they were matched into a residency to continue their training as doctors, and so I want to tell a story: I didn't match.
I'm sharing this story because I know a lot of med students follow me, and I want you to know that if you get that dreaded email next Monday, even if it feels like the end of everything, there's still hope.
@doclauravater Thank you for acknowledging this. While my husband’s MFM career has created some challenges at home, I know he loves it & everyday he helps women dealing with difficult pregnancies, so worth the sacrifices. Our son & several friends are also MD’s & I see the toll it takes on them
Dear partners of medical people: Thank you for supporting us. Know that decision fatigue is real & after a busy day of work we often can't make another decision at home... it's not because we don't love you or don't care, we are just mentally spent. Thanks for loving us anyway.
