Listening to 3 clocks in one room ticking simultaneously. Solar powered bobble heads clack throughout the day in another. My spouse finds it distracting. I find it comforting. Always have. A lifelong subconscious attempt to replicate my first mom’s heartbeat?

Saw my bmom’s face/heard her voice for the first time thanks to COVID. Her employer made a ‘thank you for keeping us afloat during lockdown’ video. She is onscreen for 2 seconds. I rewatch those frames on an endless loop. To have found this clip is simultaneous joy/torture.💔

Once again, I DO NOT recommend students go to libgen (dot) rs and download books for their upcoming courses. I am NOT advocating for getting and sharing free pdfs of required texts. DON'T DO IT.

Reasons I still wear a mask in indoor public spaces: I’m vaccinated, but a signifiant portion of our population is not; the vaccine is not 100% (hello, breakthrough infections); my kid is not yet eligible for vaccination; wearing a mask costs me nothing. 😷
