Until there are more renters than owners (the current split is around 2:1, in favor of home owners), there will be no political will to make housing affordable in Canada. Housing costs are what will eventually bring this beautiful country to its knees and it's already happening

I have this nagging suspicion that social media platforms fail once they start introducing privacy options. People love to be peeping Tom's, so it loses its appeal once you can lock down your profile and share only with specific people. Biggest examples: Instagram and Facebook

Terry Fox and 10-year old Greg Scott near Terrace Bay, Ontario on August 27th, 1980. The young boy, who also lost a leg to bone cancer, followed Fox on his bike for 6 miles. Terry would later write that this would be the most inspirational day of his Marathon of Hope. (Cont)

Suddenly renters became NIMBYs by asking for a ban of short term rentals, while short term rental operators are fighting government tooth and nail to have less "rules". What a time to be alive, but kind of funny to see the tables turn for a minute...

Asking for tax, fee and other exemptions for builders without any stipulations to ensure that benefits don't just pad their pockets, without helping the end user at all, is like allowing people to collect EI/CPP without any job loss/income/contribution verification.
