Best moment of the night (maybe season?) is 10x better in Spanish.

Bump x2. I’m taking a break from baseball.

Remember when the #MNTwins traded one of the top closers in baseball for an average, injury-riddled starter and a sketchy reliever? (But wait, Paddack is controllable!) Pain.

About that sketchy reliever… He blew four games against the Guardians in two weeks.

@tlschwerz Man, way to cherry pick numbers. WAR isn’t the end all, be all of stats. You can’t compare starters and relievers like this. Rogers would have made a huge difference for this team and has been a huge contributor for the Padres. The trade was garbage then — it looks worse now.

Admit it, we all cried a little at the heart-melting moment when a #BlueJays fan handed a young #Yankees fan a home-run ball off Aaron Judge. I went down to the left-field stands to find out how the moment happened: theathletic.com/3292709/2022/0…

Since 2019, the Minnesota Twins are 124-73 (101-win pace) with a +233 run differential when Byron Buxton plays, per @PaulHembo. In the 203 games he hasn't played, Twins are 94-109 (75-win pace) and -97. In his last 162 games, Buxton has 8.4 WAR. The definition of impact player.

Iowa State just beat a 3-seed Wisconsin in basically a road game to secure a Sweet Sixteen… a year after going 2-22. Give Otzelberger National Coach of the Year now. Roll Clones 🌪🌪

BREAKING: Major League Baseball and the MLB Players Association have reached a tentative agreement on a new labor deal, sources tell ESPN. While it still needs to be ratified by both parties, that is expected to be a formality, and when it is: Baseball is back.

Pettiest reasoning I’ve ever heard. It sounds like they are so close.

The union said it was promised a counter-proposal by #MLB which never came. MLB said it would cancel another week of games if no deal was reached this afternoon. There was no deal. Games canceled.

#MLB owners are such clowns. Can’t see beyond their own short-term profits. They were never willing to negotiate in good faith throughout this two-month process, and baseball will take a huge blow as a result.

When your most hardcore fans (like my friend group) are talking about boycotting #MLB, you’ve got a serious problem. I definitely won’t be as passionate if/when games return. Could be my emotions talking, but this is just unacceptable for a sport that is already falling behind.

MLB today indicated a willingness to miss a month of games and took a more threatening tone than yesterday, sources briefed on the day’s first meeting between MLB and the Players Association tell me, @Ken_Rosenthal and @FabianArdaya. Full context of conversation not yet known.
