Audiology is the quiet scandal in NHS diagnostics. Fewer than 60% of patients seen within six weeks. More than one in five waiting over thirteen weeks. Nobody marches for hearing tests. They should.

Lincolnshire: 56.4% of patients waiting over six weeks for a diagnostic test. Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire: 6.5%. Same NHS. Same standard. A nine fold gap. Postcode lottery is too polite a term.

Energy is the rate limiting factor of our ability to compete in most markets and thrive as an economy. Economic output is simply the conversion of energy into tangible value that can be sold and ultimately retained. Huge reasons to be optimistic but in healthcare (my space) we need to understand potential future tech driven provision but invest in today’s delivery I.e. workforce, workflow optimisation, estates etc.
