@japan_nobunaga Around 2008 I took my kids to the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. Sitting alone in the cafe was a gentleman who I felt drawn to talk to. He was a survivor of 9/11 and he has helped people down the stairs. He had PTSD and came to the museum daily as "therapy".

The victim of the terrorist attack at Old Dominion has been identified as Lt. Col. Brandon Shah-- who was a Professor of Military Science and the leader of the university's ROTC program. He was a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Atlantic Resolve. His awards included two Bronze Stars, Senior Army Aviator Badge, Combat Action Badge, Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal with Valor, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and the Joint Service Achievement Medal. RIP. 🙏

@tina92272 @GuntherEagleman I imagine your child would stay seated when the whole class walks out. Which is the correct thing to do. But kids succumb to peer pressure and can be influenced by what their friends say. Teaching a child strength & to do the right thing is a parent's job, not the schools.

To prevent someone who does not have custody from taking your child. 99% of the time it's simply a formality, it's to stop the 1%. Should be same for voting.
