@RushRicketson subscription revenue trend is the one that gets faked.
a growing sub line can just be new buyers on a discount.
the chart that matters is the same cohort still paying in month 4.
@AdebanjiFe35705 buy 2 save 15% only lifts the number that matters if the single was leaving margin.
if that 15% wipes first-order contribution, you raised the receipt and lost the order.
@SendItpod@jimmykim@ecomchasedimond the second order feeling like a next step is the whole thing. most post-purchase flows skip that and just ask again.
if the first order didn’t leave them short of something, there isn’t a next step to point at.
@designarclight1 cart clarity is fine. the AOV move is whatever is already sitting in that cart. a cleaner line item doesn’t make a second unit feel like the obvious one.
@JessicaCre62465 the bundle being the obvious choice only works if the gap is real.
a lot of these make the 2-pack look bigger and the per-unit saving is a couple of dollars. people notice.👁️
@seanquinlan Right after the yes is probably the best moment to offer quarterly. The version that sticks is where they keep the price and see the actual dollars saved, not another discount.
Otherwise you’ve basically just prepaid the cancel.
@rokhladnik this is the part the acquisition report hides. a cheap cohort with a discount habit looks efficient for two weeks and expensive by month three.
the CAC isn’t the customer.
@maxwellcopy Day 7 is the one that gets wasted. Product just landed, opens are high, and the email is already asking for order #2.
All that really teaches people is to wait for the next code. Better use that window to show them how to actually use the thing.
@vilobatirkedis The 90-day frame is doing half the selling before the price even shows up.
Rare case where the bundle isn’t really a discount, it’s just the amount of time the page already told you the product needs. Curious if people actually take the 90-day or still default to the single 👀
@ashvinmelwani i’d sit with the 23% before calling the CVR a win. if the new default is the shorter supply, you bought take rate by shrinking the first order.
worth knowing whether profit per session fell because of the discount, or because people stopped taking the 3-pack.
@alexpagepilot biology as the retention mechanism is the real point. the $960 number only works if that 40% is still there at month 4, not still on the intro.
a pre-checked box gets the take rate. it doesn’t get the second order.
@lalasretention the 10% subscribe line is the one that gets treated like a strategy.
it’s a price cut with a second charge attached.
if month 2 doesn’t happen, you just sold the first order cheaper.
@EcomKostnchko_ heavy AOV is the fun line. whether today was actually good sits under it.
a 2.74x on a fat bundle can still be thin if half of that receipt was discount.
@Sebastianb0527 Day 30 is the one that decides it. If that email reads like a bank alert, the education from week one doesn’t matter much.
People who see an easy way out tend to stay longer. 😬
@ecom_rickx The matching part is what usually gets skipped.
Once the bar says one sale and the cart says another, the second unit stops feeling like the obvious move and starts feeling like a different deal. 👀
@ecom_cork 6 months is the first point that number means anything. if the cohort is still ahead after refunds, $300 can be rational.
i'd want to know how many of them are actually on order 4, versus still riding the intro price.
@umzrs cold at break-even is normal now. the miss is treating LTV like it shows up on its own. if the offer never gave them a reason to come back, the flows are just reminding them of a product they already passed on.
@dtcprophet under $100 the page can do the work. the version that breaks is a solid PDP selling the single while the ad sold a result that needed the bundle.
congruency usually dies in the offer, not the headline.
@HamzaLamoudni this is the part that gets skipped. if the first sale isn't ahead after fees and refunds, email isn't LTV, it's a bailout.
an upsell only helps if it lands on that first order, not in some month-6 version of the customer.
@dennishegstad 8 is a clean skip or pause. bundles and upsells on day one don't matter much if the second order feels like a trap.
people who can get out tend to stay longer.
