Get it right: From the start, they never wanted Babu to be a Party Leader. Even after Sifuna decided to have his own party, they are still trying to force Babu into Sifuna's political vehicle through cheap threats. Now that Babu has proved he’s a sharp boy and has his own party, The Mwananchi Party (TMP), a new argument has emerged: "regional command bases." But let’s be clear about what this means politically. If the argument is that only leaders with certain regional command bases should have a seat at the bigger negotiation table, then the danger is that the negotiations become centred almost entirely on who gets the Presidency, while other critical elective positions are treated as secondary or left for later. That is where NAIROBI comes in. Babu is not asking for a seat at the table merely for the sake of having one. The Nairobi Governorship is itself a major political bargaining item. If the broader coalition is negotiating how different principals and their bases will be accommodated, then Nairobi must also be part of that conversation. You cannot tell us you support Babu for Nairobi, yet simultaneously create a negotiation structure where his political interests are not represented at the table. Babu has his own party,TMP, and a political base in Nairobi and Nyanza. The argument is that different parties can retain their identities while working together under a broader coalition. Babu Owino must be part of the negotiation process , not because anyone is doing him a favour, but because Nairobi is one of the positions being politically negotiated. IF YOU ARE NOT ON THE TABLE, BREAK THE TABLE!
