I find the "we had to mask toddlers because people were dying" arguments intriguing. Epidemiologically, it doesn't make sense. It's also a viewpoint restricted to the US. I wonder whether this stems from the US being a more religious society, where acts of penance are valued.

I doubt @RWalensky will ever be considered a serious scientist. As CDC director she pushed toddler masking. Even in 23, she cites worlds worst study to justify prolonged school closures. She was reckless with mRNA in young men & we have more papers in peer review coming.

It is kinda a big problem when government asks social media to censor people opposed to masking toddlers, closing schools, mandating boosters in young men and people suspicious of the narrative of natural origin, and then turn out to be wrong on every single issue.

Hey @iamwesmoore - you think it is fair for kids to be masked all day in school while adults are out at bars and restaurants, Ravens and Orioles games? How are kids supposed to learn to read and communicate with masks on their faces all day long??
This is why all the people who keep saying, “Why do you care?” about people in masks are so wrong. These mask zealots want to force you and your kids to wear them again. This is their goal. They must be ridiculed and defeated. We have to win this battle once and for all.

This is a perfect example of the logical fallacy I am calling reductio ad mortem. Since a lot of people died from covid, including in the US where we masked our toddlers, therefore its OK that we masked toddlers and should keep doing it. See the fallacy?
