@maroonCharcoal @tosakazaki dredging up ghosts but this is why I'm testy about some fandom ideas like "heteronormative weird route", gaster representing patriarchy etc. bigotry doesn't exist and kris is ANBAB. these are ways to *dodge* writing about queerness, but people are seeing the forest for the trees

@Hawkathone @_waiting_room they're getting your ass but yeah, it's just yellow + positioning. I remember getting really stuck on this point trying to brainstorm an orange SOUL mode. in that respect, people should be talking more about the sidescrolling battle box that makes it Not Just A Rehash Of Yellow

@yumeni_kasuga susie's optimism is "naive" because it reminds kris of when they got suckered into the same childhood fantasies. they mistake obligation for maturity; the knight wrecks ch3 + ch5's escapism. they want ralsei to serve his role, but, against type, start to see him as his own person

@yumeni_kasuga genuinely I think it's kris being a closet otaku like I think their weeb phase and later their vehement denial represents their feelings on the dark worlds and fiction as a whole; they use darkners to progress the knight's plan, yet can't help but feel some affection for them
