Chiefs WR draft history under Brett Veach: Rashee Rice (2023) Skyy Moore (2022) Cornell Powell (2021) Mecole Hardman (2019) Tremon Smith (2018) Proclaiming Xavier Worthy a can’t miss star because he landed in KC is an overreaction IMO. They have hit on one of the five receivers they’ve drafted since Patrick Mahomes became the starter. Receivers like Worthy who ran in the 4.2s in the 40-yard dash at the combine: John Ross, Marquise Goodwin, Henry Ruggs, Jacoby Ford, J.J. Nelson, Tyquan Thornton. Now add up all the 1,000-yard seasons from that group. Worthy could be the first 4.2s WR ever to do it. I’m not holding my breath…
@MattParrino Hollywood brown had 1k yards before and ran 4.27
@MattParrino How is rice a hit anyways? He played a few good games and is now suspended (likely) That’s like calling josh Gordon a hit after year 1 or Braylon edwards a hit after year 1
@MattParrino Who of the other 4.2 guys had Mahomes as their QB? I’m not holding my breath for your answer.
@MattParrino "Now add up all the 1,000-yard seasons from that group. Worthy could be the first 4.2s WR ever to do it. I’m not holding my breath…" Hmm let us revisit this in a couple of seasons.
@MattParrino @manecci Can you believe Chiefs gave the Bills Coleman and Carter for a marginal WR? #BillsMafia
@MattParrino They don’t need 1000 yards. You’re thinking about it wrong. How many 1000+ receivers did they all play with or make possible. They take a one DB and at least one Safety deep and out of the play so you hit the open guy in the mid field.
@MattParrino I haven't seen a single person state that Worthy is a "can't miss star". I've seen a ton of people get very excited at his potential, considering his is the fastest player in combine history, has excellent route running and now has the best QB throwing to him, which makes sense
