Another common claim to unpick. It’s halving of threshold NIC applies - that’s 4 times as impactful as the rate change & disproportionately hits part time, entry level roles with a 75% tax increase. A £3.4bn tax raise is not small & makes eating & drinking out more expensive

The warning lights are flashing red in the labour market. 2 months ago, we had seen 70,000 jobs lost in hospitality due to the budget - its now jumped 20,000 or 4% of workforce. Half of all jobs lost across the economy are in hospitality. We need the Chancellor to fix nics
