Herein lies the issue. Medicine loves wielding fairness as a reason to not accommodate ppl. I call this regressive equity. Little consideration for folks’ various needs. Imagine having epilepsy, narcolepsy, bipolar disorder, severe insomnia. What do we even learn physiology for?

@jbullockruns Working nights is toxic to everyone. Worse health outcomes for everyone. Working nights, holidays & weekends is tough on mental health & is limiting for social well-being for everyone. Yet patients come at night & people need to help them. What is the fair solution in ur 👀

@theatricalmama @TruthAutistic & things the specific way I req. I went thru phases of living on 1 thing & was always in good health. As an adult I can try new foods with 0 anxiety, there’s so many things I will eat to meet nutritional needs & I don’t find it difficult to say no to the things I can’t. (2/2)

@theatricalmama @TruthAutistic Sounds like you’re doing just what he needs. My mum never forced trying food bc if the smell/texture made me nauseous I knew I’d hate & was right 100% of time, never pressured to finish, provided variety/choice & would always make me ‘bland’ foods. (1/2)

Bruh. I don’t agree with this completely but the replies are just an echo chamber jumping to “you’re an ableist troll.” To me it seems like genuine questions from someone wanting to understand. Kind of ironic actually bc autistic ppl are often misunderstood 😅

@TMdarkkeeper @HZokre @OriTomorrow I don’t think you were being ableist. I disagree with your original comment but I think I get your point. I’ve also seen many people display behaviours that are autistic traits but don’t necessarily mean they are autistic. Is that what you meant?

@dustychipura Age 5ish would cry and have a meltdown every time the teacher changed the activity. Had mum cut off tags on my clothes because I couldn’t tolerate the discomfort. Only ate “bland” foods. A revolving door of special interests. Literacy levels beyond most of my peers.

pick your friends up from the airport, help them move, help them with their problems, cook for them, watch their pets when they aren’t, get them medicine when they’re sick, talk to them, sit with them, hold them. love your friends while you can and do it loudly.
