Reminds me of the work adage: Would you rather be liked or be respected? The foundational contrast of these two, for the latter: doing what's "right," but unpopular; making tough decisions based on long-term outcomes; and (I would argue) self-confidence,or at least self-awareness

@IAmMarkManson The need for universal approval keeps you small and inauthentic. Accepting that some people won't connect with who you really are frees you to be genuine instead of performing for validation.
Conversely, next time you find yourself triggered or angry at someone, realize that there's a deeper reason that reveals more about yourself than you want to admit.

overthinking VS mindfulness
So good to know this is a thing (and not just me) 🙂 But sunlight, fresh air, and barefoot grounding do nourish us both physically & spiritually. (Good thing my dogs force me outside at least a few times/day 🙂)

@readswithravi I miss bookstores so much. 🥴 Sometimes I even miss catalogs. There was something about earmarking pages of things I wanted that just doesn't compare to digital.
