1 of 580 bottles (2 amphoras). Excellent wine of Ipacs-Szabó Winery, Siklós, Hungary. The vintage is 2022 , but this unfiletered wine is still like a nouveau/novello. Presumably based on Kékfrankos/Blaufränkisch. #wine

Excellent Kékfrankos (Blaufränkisch), at $3. Wunderlich Winery, Villány, Hungary, 2018. At its peak, without the variety's often unpleasant geranium-like component in the nose.

The Roman Wine of Speyer's the oldest surviving bottle of wine, found in Germany, in a tomb of a legionary from the 4th century A.D. It was enriched with herbs. The preservation is attributed to a large amount of olive oil added to keep air out, as well as a hot wax seal. #wine
