Everyone is welcome to join our chats, from health professionals to anyone interested in medicine and literature. These are very complex times we are living through and these books provide a unique platform for discussion and a framework to support us making sense of the world.
Next month we will be meeting to discuss Tormented Hope by @briandillon (2009 shortlist), which will take us through the lives of some fascinating people in history and their struggle with psychosomatic illness, a theme that has kept reappearing in this prize. @PenguinUKBooks
The @wellcomebkprize might be taking a break this year, but we are not! Since March we have been going back to shortlists from 2009-2011 and have a year long of bookish chat planned, via Zoom until we are able to meet in person again. Full schedule here: milancollective.uk
