A new tool lets owners of supported RTX 50, 40 and 30 series GPUs load a custom VBIOS without actually flashing the GPU’s BIOS. So you can test a modified BIOS while keeping the original one untouched. With the RTX 5080 test, the card normally has a 360W power limit, but the modified VBIOS allowed it to run at 500W. That means users can potentially unlock higher power limits and experiment with higher clock speeds without permanently replacing the original BIOS.
