Last night, the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act passed in the House of Representatives. Today, I’m celebrating this victory. Because it’s not every day that a landmark bill like this—a bill that will give a voice to so many—has a chance to become law.
But this is far from a done deal. Like so many others before it, this bill could fail in the Senate. So I’m asking you to make your voice heard. Join me and @WhenWeAllVote, and ask your Senator to support this bill: weall.vote/johnlewisvra.
@MichelleObama @WhenWeAllVote Woo, hoo!!! Yeeeessss!
@MichelleObama @WhenWeAllVote While I’m happy for this, we need more than this Act. We need HR 1 (For the People Act) to pass.
@MichelleObama @WhenWeAllVote I totally agree!! It puts us closer to total victory 👍🏾
@MichelleObama Page 113 “Ninety percent of the young people never come in conflict with the law.” Since Martin Luther King Junior wrote Where Do We Go, tactics of oppression have changed Dave Matthews Band (CD song); in disability parking spot, bumper sticker California plate @SenFeinstein
@MichelleObama @WhenWeAllVote for yet another crisis in LA where a powerful hurricane struck yet again with considerable loss and damages. But he was faceless- only if it's not too insulting- emotionless as if stone-hearted, "I'm not supposed to.." which was unbelievably awkward (a moment). Hope better days🍏
