My coworker deleted every file on his computer before resigning. Two weeks later, we understood what he’d been trying to prevent. He had worked at the company for eleven years and had never caused trouble. Then, without warning, he resigned. On his final day, I watched him sit at his desk and delete everything. Emails. Reports. Spreadsheets. Client records. Even the folders he’d spent years building. Our manager was furious. “What are you doing?” he demanded. My coworker calmly replied, “You’ll understand soon.” Nobody did.
