@Guitarbizon If I had to choose just 1 it would be “Knocking on Heaven’s Door” from their show at the Ritz in NYC The total rawness, Axl’s initial dedication and his leading the crowd, Slash’s totally kick ass solo - it has everything that made them so electrifying. youtu.be/H4oHp8mhDJQ?is…

@Mikehomeseller I last played the complete album about 2 months ago. My favorite Zep LP is their debut though LZ IV has the 1st song I ever heard from the band when I was a kid, “Misty Mountain Hop”

@Mikehomeseller DSOTM. Its themes - time’s relentless march, the trappings of money, relationship dynamics (Us and Them), death & beyond (Great Gig…) and madness - are universal. No other recording is as ambitious and yet still as cohesive in displaying a view of human existence as this one.

@Mikehomeseller Gimme Shelter already has a dark grit and urgency to it. But when Merry Clayton has her say, it takes the energy to a whole other level - I get goosebumps when I hear her part!

@MotherJones Y’all just couldn’t resist the urge to foam at the mouth and call genuine concern a “national panic” could you? What Jennifer is calling out is our national disgrace.

@Mikehomeseller Of all of their releases, this one is my personal favorite. So much aggression, attitude and grit. “Mean Street” is a gnashing grind on maintaining toughness in the face of a hostile environment. “Unchained” and “Heat About it Later” are also standouts.

@20th_Centurygal This group’s snappy new wave riffs & tight harmonies are great. I’ll still rock out to “Let The Good Times Roll”

@musicalvagabond Not fair! Zeppelin’s debut vs. The Cars?! Wildly different musical starting points but I can remember the excitement of hearing each for the 1st time! The only way I could “decide” is with a coin flip!
