AI coding agents don't need bigger models.
They need better codebases.
Technical debt used to be a developer productivity problem. Now it is also an AI cost problem.
Messy code means more tokens spent understanding your system, more exploration, and slower development.
@Mahaximus_ Building a harness might feel innovative, but if the model can accomplish the task better in a year, you're just racing against time and tech advancements.
@shivam74689 Observation and evaluation infrastructure are often neglected until issues arise. I recommend integrating them into the development phase to catch potential problems early.
The underrated impact of AI isn't that it writes code.
It's that it makes small software projects worth building.
Before AI:
"This would be useful, but it'll take too long."
After AI:
"I'll just build it."
@mattpocockuk While corporate folks are busy writing pristine documentation, real developers are out here actually building and sharing their raw skills.
@HeyAnjula I haven't found the need for these .mds yet. Claude code is pretty good at finding what it needs to find, but maybe my prompts are just good?
@DataChaz I had a similar idea ... for a lot of things, not just job hunting. Tweaking prompts and harnesses around them has been an issue, because my first attempts always resulted in mediocre texts.
I added an LLM to a Chrome extension for writing comments.
It worked technically.
I still didn’t use it most of the time because the suggestions weren't good 😂.
