@RevRhodes Yes; I was taking it that way, but that’s why I said I felt it’s a bridge too far. The language leaves little room for the blessedness of poverty. Anyway, like I said, nit picky on my part. Blessings to you!

@RevRhodes Working with the generic “condemn to hell.” Is that not his intention?

@RevRhodes Not to be picky, but slums don’t damn. They don’t have the power. And I pause to disagree with MLK, but that seems a bridge too far, even if the intention is understood by the other items in the list. Seems wrong to overstate the case and sap its authority.

@ThabitiAnyabwil So much outrage about so many meaningless things. Society is about to have a collective stroke.

@caroljsroth As a grown man with a wife and 3 kids, I am quick to explain that sports are dumb, I love my cat, and I like to talk about my feelings. None of that makes me less male. Why can’t people understand that?

@DZRishmawy “suggests their is often” may need to be corrected, in case anyone decides to hate on you for it and ignore the piece. Excellent points. I had been unfamiliar with the new “wrinkle,” and am interested in reading more. Thanks!

Recently I had a very moving conversation with an older White gentleman (70 years old). As we were talking, I asked him where he was born. He stated that he was born and raised in South Carolina but moved all over the South because he was a minister's kid.

@juliaioffe "...to respond with kindness even when they disagree, to live and let live. I heard about a guy who used to say all that stuff, and apparently his birthday is coming up." You should see how he talked to the Pharisees.

Y'all know you're talking about the Wall all of a sudden again because of the political need to have a thing to talk about that people care more about than collusion and sex stuff, that could've been satisfied anytime in the last 2 years without much hullaballoo.. right?

@KalElVinist Putting our joy behind the interests of@others is a fruit of the Spirit we typically reject as radical individualists. I pray for the kind of community that makes individuals important by putting others first.

@robertsonsam89 Seems strange but this tweet (along with other similar questions from others all about the same time) launched a home church. No kidding.

Seems the thing churches are missing is intimate relationships. Churches, families, job sites, etc. 50% of the Decalogue is about how we treat each other. Social media is a counterfeit.
