@chipgaines @DrBradJohnson As a reading specialist in a Title 1 building, with the possibility of going virtual again, my students could use a "literacy" take-home bag. They would use these items in the class then take them home if needed for remote learning. amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls…

I don’t know what will happen this fall when schools across the US should be opening, but I do know that worrying about it will not change anything. Try your best to enjoy your summer break when it comes and focus on your mental health.

If your online learning model is adding trauma to teachers, parents, and students in an already traumatic environment, then you don't have an online learning model.

It shouldn’t be up to teachers/principals/staff to say no to unrealistic expectations put on them right now. They aren’t wired that way. They’re servant hearted by nature. Its up to districts to be realistic in what they’re asking so they don’t feel like they have to say no.

Maybe if we narrow the requirements for elementary to the 3R's in times of crisis it would help parents out. 1. Read 2. Rest (naps) 3. Recess

Dear Education, please don't over-complicate this situation. Let teachers offer some enrichment, encourage students to read, & check in on their students! Then let them take care of their own families, elderly parents, food shortages, etc. Don't make us look worse than politicians

@NBCThisisUs Although I am a diehard #ChiefsKingdom fan, I would proudly rock the black and gold Pearson jersey if I had one!

A3: Since I'm a reading teacher, we don't necessarily have classroom goals to finish the year, but I do have groups that want to read certain texts before we end the year. We are going to give it a try!! #nkcchat

A2: I think connecting with other teachers and remembering that the students are the driving force to finish the year strong #nkcchat

A1: I think keeping reading groups as normal as possible, but maybe include more choice in material and ways to respond to keep students engaged #nkcchat
