JOB INTERVIEW TIPS Proper preparation helps alleviate some of the stress involved in job interviews and the more you prepare, the more confortable you will be during an interview. Here are some preparedness tips: 1. PRACTICE. Practice answering questions and practice your responses to typical job interview questions most employees ask. Think of actual examples you can use to describe your skills (they must be related to the job you are being interviewed for and the company at large.Never give irelavant examples).Providing evidence of your successes is a great way to promote your candidacy. 2. VOICE TONE. Voice tone is very importance. Its actually the first culprit to knowing someones nevousness.Practice how you will control your tone.Never be too low nor too loud.Overconfidence might make you to be too loud or start stamouring. 3. RESEARCH Know something about the company or organisation you are going to for interviews. They may ask you, ''What do you know about our company''. THIS IS A POINT WHERE TO SHINE IF YOU HAVE A LOT OF INFOR ABOUT THEM.SHOW THEM.TALK ABOUT THEIR PRODUCTS AND SERVICES,EVEN COMPANY HIRACH IF POSIBLE.This will give morale to your interviewee that they are interviewing their colleague. Try to relate what you know about the company with your experience and profession. 4. GET READY. Make sure your interview attire is neat, tidy and appropriate for the type of firm or job you are interviewing with...e.g., you cant go with a nice suit for an interview as a BRICKLAYER..Ummmmmmmm.You might be considered too smart for the job.The opposite is also deadly.Bring a nice portifolio with copies of your resume. Include a pen and note pad for taking notes. 5. BE ON TIME. It means 5-10 minutes early. If need be,take a drive to the place before interview day so you know exactly where it is and how long you will take to go there on the actual day.You can have an oppotunity to even meet some workers who have been there for a longtime, thats if you are sharp, and ask them a little about the company so that you can have some infor. 6.STAY CALM. During the job interview, try to relax and stay as calm as possible. You may take a long and deep breath before entering the interview chamber in case your breathing control accelerates above normal due to nervousness. 7. EYE CONTACT WITH THE INTERVIEWER. Maintain eye contact always with the interviewer.Never, never look down when you are being interviewed as if the interviewer is proposing love to you or looking up in the roof like in the exam room. 8.BE ATTENTIVE TO QUESTIONS. You will be embarassed if you forget the question. Listen to the entire question before answering.Never be in a hury..mpombo wibilima, ababilima tabaya....But as the interviewer is resighting his question be quick to start thinking of answers so that as soon as he finishes asking, you may start responding.Dont take a lot of time thinking about an answer. This might show that you where not prepared for the interview or basically you aint qualified for the job because you luck data. 9. SHOW WHAT YOU KNOW. Try to relate what you know about the company when answering questions with your career accomplishments. 10. FOLLOW UP. Lastly, follow up with a THANKYOU note reiterating your interest in the position. COMMON INTERVIEW QUESTIONS...(FOOD FOR THOUGHT) 1. What is your greatest strength 2. What is your greatest weakness 3. How do you handle stress and pressure 4. Describe a difficult work situation/ project and how you overcame it 5. How do you evaluate success 6. Why have you left your previous company? 7. Why do you want this job? 8. Why should we hire you? 9. What are your goals for the future? 10. Tell me about yourself?
