They are closing down one of the biggest seal hospital in europe, Pieterburen, bc of the lack of funds and support from the local municipality. Im kindly asking if you could spare any donations (even just an euro helps!) to use the link in the reply. Thank you so much!
Many have been asking for a crowdfund. Our official GoFundMe page is now live. 🙏 We're hoping for a miracle. 😢🦭 Donate via our own website: steun.zeehondencentrum.nl/1-euro-campaign Donate via GoFundMe: gofund.me/2c6f68292 Take action: …ndencentrum.community-fundraising.com
@IncelKulak I mean pretty much all the acts that splintered out from Elephant 6 were waning in relevance after the 90s. Of Montreal hitting their stride in the late 2000’s is a minor miracle in that regard

@insectophiliac @Rage_Crayon @Meelsie143 Personal preference will always be a factor but at a certain point the argument becomes “world gen doesn’t matter” and I think that’s hand waiving away an extremely important aspect of the game in a way that’s cheap and lazy
@insectophiliac @Rage_Crayon @Meelsie143 It’s bad game design to create a world that leaves your mind because you found the right type of wood, you know? Exploration IS gameplay so it should be as interesting as possible and it isn’t.
@insectophiliac @Rage_Crayon @Meelsie143 Being able to map out, both on in game maps and mentally, specific areas of the world is a good feeling and that feeling should be reinforced because it’s fun and makes me feel like I’m exploring a real world an not a formless mush with no clear beginning or end
@insectophiliac @Rage_Crayon @Meelsie143 Game feel IS game design. If something feels better to exist in then it feels better to play. That’s not a quantifiable thing but I’m telling you, to me, continental generation feels so much better than the default noise map
@insectophiliac @Rage_Crayon @Meelsie143 space for me. Traveling means nothing when everything is everywhere all the time. With continents you get to make a mental map of the world you have and it makes it feel like “yours”. A self imposed limit or shrinking the world border is not a substitute for good game design.
@insectophiliac @Rage_Crayon @Meelsie143 that experience every time I make a world. Oceans do NOT need to be massive or take hours to cross but simple continental generation in base game would increase my enjoyment of the game in magnitudes I cannot overstate. The sprawling infinite blob completely destroys all sense of
