One Month Discount on Petrol: From Reactive Policies to Flawed Outcomes! The announcement by the APC led Federal Government offering a 30-day discount on price of petrol to relieve the acute hardship and hunger caused Nigerians by its unplanned removal of subsidy can only be described as another very reactive and confused approach to governance that is now the culture of the Tinubu Government. I had delayed in reacting to the announcement just to give the benefit of doubt and watch the outcome of the policy. Now, having assessed the outcomes, the policy is a substitution of political optics for sound policy. As Nigerians will recall, President Bola Tinubu on May 29, 2023, most carelessly removed fuel subsidy without any consultation or proper assessment of the negative impacts of such policies on our economy particularly on the livelihood of ordinary Nigerians. Moreover, the careless removal of fuel subsidy was followed by other very badly sequenced policies such as the floating of the naira and tax reforms, all implemented in a very disorganized, incompetent and insensitive manner in addition to using three budgets at the same time with the attendant lack of transparency and accountability. Collectively, these policies stoked inflation in all sectors, pushing in most cases unbearable price hikes across board which placed severe shocks and other adverse consequences on Nigerians. Expectedly, the outcomes are what they are- increasing multi-dimensional poverty, skyrocketing costs of goods and services, shrinking opportunities, exit of many businesses, mounting unemployment, disturbing insecurity, widening inequality, forced migration of our youths and general decline in the well-being of Nigerians. Most unfortunately, rather than engage in detailed and published regulatory impact assessment of their reactive policies, the President Bola Tinubu’s led government has again demonstrated their well-known incompetence and insensitivity to governance. With a detailed and published regulatory impact assessment of policies, a competent government would have pursued robust and sincere engagements and consultations with key stakeholders and ordinary Nigerians to recraft and implement inclusive and sustainable socio-economic growth strategies and policies. What really does the President Bola Tinubu led government want to achieve with a one-month discount of less than 5% on fuel cost. Will it reduce poverty, unemployment, insecurity, and inequality? Will it increase productivity and exports? Is it a test to ascertain if subsidy should be restored? Is it another political gambit in the face of threats of electoral loss in the 2027 election? Too many questions, no answer!

“Bola Tinubu never built Lagos, Lagos State was a market center and a former federal capital”——Lady says

THE BIBLICAL FOUNDATION OF THE ROSARY 1. The Rosary is a popular Catholic devotion that combines prayer and meditation on the life of Jesus Christ and Mary. The prayers and meditations of the Rosary are firmly grounded in the Bible, allowing us to meditate on the life of Jesus and Mary. 2. The Our Father, a central prayer of the Rosary, was taught by Jesus Himself (Mt 6:9-13). It serves as a foundation for our relationship with God, reminding us of His fatherly love and our dependence on Him. 3. The Hail Mary prayer, another central prayer of the Rosary, combines two biblical passages: the angelic greeting to Mary (Lk 1:28) and Elizabeth's words of praise (Lk 1:42). These verses highlight Mary's unique role in salvation history and our honor of her as the Mother of God. 4. The Glory Be... is a prayer of praise to the Holy Trinity - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, reflecting our acknowledgment of God's glory and majesty. It echoes the biblical theme of giving honor and worship to our Creator. 5. The mysteries of the Rosary, including the Joyful, Sorrowful, Glorious, and Luminous mysteries, invite us to meditate on the significant events in the life of Jesus and Mary. These mysteries draw from numerous biblical passages, enabling deeper reflection and understanding. 6. For instance, through the Rosary, we immerse ourselves in biblical themes like the Annunciation, the Nativity, the Crucifixion, the Resurrection, and more. Each mystery leads us to encounter the truths of Scripture and contemplate the saving work of Jesus and the role of Mary. 7. Lastly, while the Rosary as a specific devotion may have developed over time, its prayers and meditations are firmly rooted in the Scriptures. It is a spiritual weapon of warfare and powerful tool for contemplation, deepening our faith, and fostering a personal relationship with God and Mary.

From my message request…NDC and Nigerians should take note.

Anyone can see d suffering of a nation from a distance. but It takes a different kind of leader 2 walk into the crowd, take the smallest hand in his, and let that hand change what he does next. That is where empathy stops being a feeling and hope becomes a promise. vote @PeterObi

🚨 Antonio Conte criticizes Jorge Jesus on the situation with Cristiano Ronaldo: 🗣️ Antonio Conte: “Look, for me, this is very simple. It is a matter of respect, and above all, a matter of clear face-to-face honesty. “You call a top player, an absolute champion like Cristiano, to the national team. You bring him to the training ground, you take him to the stadium, and then you put him on the bench like he is a normal player? No. If he is not in your mind, if he is not in your tactical idea, you leave him at home! You do not play these media games. “Jorge Jesus knew Cristiano was 41 years old before he made the squad list. Nobody is stupid! You know he cannot run for 90 minutes like a young horse. But if you call him, it is because you need his personality, his quality, his mentality. You do not bring him just to show the journalists, ‘Look at me, I am the manager, I have the big balls to sit Ronaldo on the bench.’ This is weak. “And we must speak the truth about how Jorge arrived here. He used Cristiano. He used Ronaldo’s name, his presence, his global spotlight to make himself famous on the international stage and get the Portugal job! You take the benefit from a giant, and then when you get the power, you spit on him? No. This I do not respect. “And now I read they want another meeting? They sit at a round table again, begging him, ‘Please, Cristiano, do not retire, stay with us,’ making the same promises, only to repeat this embarrassing circus two months later? It is ridiculous! It is not serious! “Jorge must understand something very well: you can win a small ego war today, but you lose the respect of the entire locker room tomorrow. Cristiano gave his blood and his life for Portugal. You manage him with clear words and maximum respect—or you do not call him at all.”
