Great news on the Carolinas. The strong tropical systems are supposed to track faster & much further east than earlier anticipated. In turn, the rains should be more than manageable over the next few days. Whew! Here are the projected NAM 3k totals.

I can honestly say that I can't recall a stretch of HEAT this impressive so late in the season. We will be threatening record highs all week. We COOL down some next weekend as front attempts to invade the area with showers & T'Storms. Here is your extended outlook.

I rarely post about other parts of the U.S. but this is worth noting. The Carolinas will be in deep trouble over the next 7 days as a powerful tropical system stalls near the SC coast. The potential exists for over 20.00"+ of rain in some areas. Here is the ECMWF 7 day rain map.
