OT7Notes @OT7Notes

I’m in contact with many people who have left this app and are still OT7, still caring, still hoping and simply waiting for #that news. There are genuinely so many people outside of this awful bubble who haven’t given up, you just don’t see them. This app can become such an overwhelming echo chamber of negativity, cruelty and hate that it slowly drains you. If you choose to stay, please don’t contribute to that negativity too. When a space is already drowning in it, adding more only makes everything more unbearable. After seeing enough of it every day, it becomes easy to believe that this is what everyone thinks, that everyone is fighting, that everyone has given up. It isn’t. If you can, step away. Post encouragement instead. Go to other platforms, focus on your own life, talk to people who bring you peace and remind yourself that this app is not a reflection of reality. You don’t have to constantly expose yourself to something that leaves you exhausted just because everyone else seems to be doing it. And if you’re still choosing to believe, you have your own reasons for doing so. You also have your own timing, your own way of processing things and, if necessary, your own time to prepare yourself and figure out how you want to deal with whatever comes next. Nobody else gets to decide that for you. But whatever you choose, please be respectful. You don’t have to agree with someone else’s decision, but you don’t need to attack, belittle or discourage them either. And, very important: regardless of what you decide, constantly exposing yourself to this level of negativity and hatred cannot be good for you. Whoever you are, whatever “side” you’re from. There is a whole world outside this bubble. People are still here. People are still caring. People are still hoping. So please don’t let this place convince you that everyone has given up or that hope is gone. They’re still fighting. We’re still waiting.

as an ot7, sunoo and all the members are RIGHT. the lives are NOT spaces you can protest. their posts aren’t either. YOU ARE NOT AN OT7 IF YOU COMMENT “touch ur nose if heeseung’s coming back” OR “77777”. STOP. DO PROTEST ON TWITTER, NOT WEVERSE LIVE.

🥊 We found an interesting reading key for the lore 💥 Do you remember the TikTok where they mentioned the movie? 👀 It could definitely be an hint to understand something more.. It’s a long read, but it worth it! ‼️ LINK: docs.google.com/document/d/136…

Please do not allow somebody having a different opinion to completely destroy your enjoyment of something or make you feel as though you constantly have to defend yourself. They have their opinion and you have yours. Boycotting is a choice. Not boycotting is a choice. Believing this situation is permanent is an opinion, just as believing there is considerably more happening behind the scenes is also an opinion. You are allowed to look at the information available to you, reach your own conclusions and continue believing what makes the most sense to you without turning somebody who reached a different conclusion into your enemy. Disagreement does not have to become hostility, and somebody being louder, more aggressive or more certain than you does not automatically make their interpretation more correct. And for anyone who has been on the receiving end of the more malicious side of this situation, whether that has been harassment, dogpiling, spiteful comments, intimidation or, at the absolute extreme, death threats, please remember that a significant amount of that behaviour is designed to provoke a reaction. Some people actively seek attention, conflict and drama because receiving a response validates the time they have chosen to invest in antagonising somebody else. If anything, remember that something you posted bothered them so profoundly that they willingly took time out of their own day to seek you out, formulate whatever harmful thought they wanted you to hear and make sure you saw it. Personally, I find that considerably more sad and pathetic than insulting. There are infinitely more productive ways to spend your limited time on this planet, and if upsetting strangers on the internet has become somebody’s preferred source of entertainment, I would genuinely suggest considering a new hobby. Do not give people who are deliberately searching for attention, drama or a reaction the satisfaction of receiving one. I will probably continue being considerably quieter on here because, in all honesty, I find this platform incredibly toxic and I have been much happier analysing things privately. There are things myself and others have worked out that I have no intention of publicly discussing right now because I think it is far more beneficial to continue watching what happens. Eventually I may talk about those analyses again, but for now I am quite content observing. I mainly wanted to post this because people have asked and I wanted my stance to finally be clear. I am still OT7. I am still pro boycott. I am incredibly proud of all seven of them, and I have not changed my mind about the company or what I believe is happening. And before anybody attempts to turn this into something it is not, I have been nothing but respectful throughout this situation. You are completely free to disagree with me. What you are not free to do is invent things I have never said, attribute opinions to me that I do not hold and then attack me for the narrative you created yourself. If you want to disagree with me, disagree with what I actually said. It really is that simple.

I also think there is a wider conversation to be had about how much promotional labour companies now outsource to fandoms without ever actually calling it that. Companies do not necessarily need to promote artists to the extent they once did because they know fans will do an enormous amount of that work for free. Fans create edits, clips, translations, trends, streaming campaigns and entire promotional strategies themselves. They circulate links, push releases onto algorithms and introduce the artist to audiences the company’s own marketing may never have reached. Even outrage can become part of that cycle because people complaining about something are still sharing it and putting it in front of more people. From a purely business perspective, it is incredibly convenient. The artist still receives exposure, the fandom effectively becomes an unpaid promotional network and the company saves money on marketing while benefiting from the reach. This is also why I think fans sometimes underestimate how much power they actually have as consumers. Companies have learnt how valuable fandom behaviour is to their business models, which means fans deciding where they direct their attention, labour and money matters considerably more than people seem to realise. That being said, I have watched everything that has happened online over the past few months and some of the behaviour has been genuinely ridiculous. There have been some incredibly toxic individuals involved in this situation, although individuals is probably kinder than the word I would personally use. Parasites feels considerably more accurate for some of them. There seems to be this strange belief that being behind an account makes somebody untouchable and therefore gives them permission to harass and torment anyone whose opinion differs from theirs. Friendly reminder that what you put online can come back to bite you. I see opinions I disagree with every single day. I either scroll past them or block the account. It really is that simple. Somebody having a different opinion does not require a response from you, and it certainly does not give you permission to dogpile, harass or create entire narratives about them. Some of the things I have watched people say and do over a K-pop group have genuinely made me question the future of humanity. If you do not care about my opinion, you can apply exactly the same principle to this post and scroll past it. For the 6+1s who have accepted the current situation, that is your choice, I don’t agree, but I respect it. For the solo stans, I hope you are happy. For OT6, congratulations, you finally have some music other than Lucifer to listen to, so I hope you are enjoying that as sin:bliss is a great album. None of you need my permission to hold whatever stance you hold, just as I do not need yours to hold mine. For the respectful OT7s who have messaged me, I do not really know what comforting words I can give you other than telling you that I am still here, I am still OT7, I am still pro boycott and I have not given up. I have my reasons for maintaining that position, both personally and because of what I believe is happening from a business perspective. I have spent months analysing this company and this situation, and going quiet did not mean that analysis stopped. If anything, being quiet made it considerably easier to watch what was happening without feeling the need to react publicly to every development. I suppose I have become a silent blade in a way, still watching, still analysing and still noticing the same patterns I always have, just without feeling the need to show my hand every time I notice something.

Just a warning, this is going to be a long post because I have quite a lot I want to say. I also have several analyses that I wrote ages ago and have just never posted. I tend to keep most of my analyses private now because, in all honesty, I don’t particularly enjoy using X anymore. I might eventually post some of the ones sitting in my notes, I might not. We will see. I think it is probably time I actually say something on here, considering I have not properly posted since around June and I have had quite a few people message me asking what my stance is, whether it has changed and whether I have stopped doing analyses. I have not stopped analysing anything. I just changed where I was doing it and a lot of my analyses became private. I have still been in contact with quite a few people and having the same conversations I used to have publicly, just no longer on here. Before I get into my actual stance though, I do want to say how proud I am of all of them. All seven. I am incredibly proud of the members for the sin:bliss album because it is genuinely such a good album, and I am equally proud of Heeseung debuting as Evan. Death of Me is so good, but more than anything, I am just happy that he has finally been able to release his story, something he has poured so much of his own emotion, passion and creativity into. He has been working on his own music for years, so regardless of everything else surrounding this situation, seeing him finally release something that is his makes me incredibly happy for him. I am proud of all seven of them and nothing about my opinion of the company changes that. As for the question I keep getting asked, my stance has not changed. I am still OT7 and I am still pro boycott. I also acknowledge the current situation. Enhypen are currently six and Heeseung is currently solo. Acknowledging what is happening in the present does not mean I suddenly have to abandon every conclusion I have reached over the past several months, nor does it change what I think is happening from a business perspective. I have not given up. I simply stopped feeling the need to publicly explain every single thing I was seeing when I already had a fairly clear understanding of what the company was doing. There is actually a reason I went quiet. At a certain point, myself and a few others more or less worked out what we think is happening and what the company is doing. Once you reach that point, there is not much benefit in constantly posting every single observation publicly. It becomes far more useful to stay quiet, continue analysing and assessing the situation and see whether what happens next supports what you have already worked out. Pretty much everything that has happened since I stopped posting is something we had predicted in some capacity, which has only made me more comfortable with the conclusions I had already reached. There are obviously things I could talk about, but right now I think it is better that I don’t. Sometimes it is far more interesting to just watch a company move when you already have a fairly good idea of the strategy behind those movements.

Can I say i'm annoyed by all this doomposting over Heli's "death" when 8 DAYS AGO they said this

@sungpunzel @mazzheestar The photo of Heeseung with the red hair and denim outfit was originally from a Joocyee Polaroid, and the other photo of him was from the Vampire World Pilot ticket.

@Lucifertxxth Hi! Just to clarify, this is an edit that someone has created. The photo of Heeseung with the red hair and denim outfit was originally from a Joocyee Polaroid, and the other photo of him was from the Vampire World Pilot ticket.

@newjeansl0ver5 Hi of course. It currently won’t let me message you.

Over the past two months, I have been quietly researching, documenting and analysing the wider situation surrounding ENHYPEN, Heeseung, HYBE and the broader corporate and legal environment around them. This is not a hate thread, nor is it an attempt to spread misinformation, target artists or encourage harassment towards any member, fandom or company. It is an analysis project based on publicly available information, timeline tracking, media framing, marketing strategy, fandom behaviour, corporate crisis management and wider industry practices. Before people attempt to dismiss this as “jobless behaviour” or emotional overreaction, I think it is important to establish context. I am not only a fan. I have a background in music business, music performance and journalism, particularly investigative journalism, alongside wider creative and analytical fields. I also currently work within an area connected to the industry. Looking at timelines, contradictions, narrative framing, audience behaviour, PR strategy, marketing psychology and corporate communication is quite literally how my brain has been trained to work. This has not been written overnight. A large portion of this analysis has been gradually collected since the departure announcement itself. The reason it has taken so long is because I am a very busy person outside of fandom spaces, and I wanted to approach this carefully, thoroughly and responsibly rather than emotionally reacting in the moment. I have simply gathered information, patterns and observations over time whenever I have had the opportunity to properly sit down and analyse them. Everything discussed throughout these threads is either publicly observable, based on fan observations, or theoretical business, media and marketing analysis. I am not presenting speculation as confirmed fact, nor am I accusing any artist or company of crimes without evidence. However, I do believe there are enough inconsistencies, contradictions, patterns and unanswered questions to justify serious discussion. If you do not care about this topic or fundamentally disagree with my perspective, that is completely fine. However, I ask respectfully that people simply disengage rather than entering these threads purely to provoke arguments or fandom wars. I do not enter OT6 spaces, and I ask for the same respect in return towards OT7 and 6 plus 1 spaces. Constant fandom harassment and hostility helps nobody. My care has always come from all seven members. This has never been about hatred towards the group, nor has it been about attacking the members who are still actively promoting. The frustration many fans feel is directed more towards management, communication, transparency and the wider corporate handling of the situation. Please also do not project assumptions or narratives onto me personally. You do not know me, my intentions, my life, my work, or the amount of research that has gone into this. These threads are simply an attempt to organise and explain patterns that many fans have already quietly noticed for months. At the end of the day, nobody truly knows what happens privately behind closed doors except the people directly involved. What fans can do, however, is critically analyse public timelines, contradictions, media framing, marketing behaviour and audience response. That is what these threads are intended to do. I also want to add that if there is any information that appears incorrect, outdated, or if there is context I may genuinely be missing, please kindly let me know respectfully so I can correct it. The intention here is not to spread misinformation, but to analyse and discuss a situation that many fans have been trying to make sense of for months. The first thread will focus specifically on the timeline and why so many fans began questioning the official narrative once the dates, legal developments and public events were placed beside each other chronologically.

Hi Belift staff !! It’s me (again) 🥰 Today I have to call you out, again… How is it possible that with so many people working on this no one noticed ? I thought you cared a lot especially about this part of the show, but still… “The magnificent Seven” This is from Seoul, Brazil and Mexico. I hope you realise that YOU should have done a better job since the beginning, it’s not up to anyone else to speak up to fix the consequences of your mistakes. Hire new staff, again 🥰

@Jst_like_a_zooe You guys have such a good energy😊

This is why scarcity marketing should not be dismissed as simply “limited edition albums” or “random photocards”. In modern entertainment, scarcity can apply to almost anything audiences value. Access can be scarce. Information can be scarce. Certainty can be scarce. Visibility can be scarce. Closure can be scarce. And when audiences are emotionally invested, those forms of scarcity can be just as powerful as physical limitation. An important distinction is that scarcity does not always require something to be genuinely rare. In many cases, perceived scarcity can be just as influential as actual scarcity. If audiences believe access is limited, uncertain or difficult to obtain, their behaviour often changes regardless of the true level of availability. This can be seen in everything from concert ticket sales and limited merchandise to information and communication. Two people may be exposed to exactly the same situation, yet if one perceives access as uncertain, they are often more likely to monitor updates, engage in discussion and react emotionally to new information. In this sense, scarcity is not simply about what exists. It is about what audiences believe they may lose, miss or never receive. Scarcity marketing has not suddenly appeared in K-pop. It has always been there. What has changed is how many forms it can now take. In the past, scarcity was often attached to products and events. Now, within digital fandom ecosystems, scarcity can exist through communication, timing, platform access, profile changes, selective visibility and unanswered questions. That evolution is important because modern audiences are not only consumers. They are participants, investigators, collectors, interpreters and emotional stakeholders. When something is limited, they do not simply wait. They analyse. They discuss. They compare. They form theories. They build narratives. This is why scarcity remains one of the most effective strategies within the attention economy. It does not only make people want access. It makes them keep watching for when access might finally appear. End of Part Two: Scarcity Marketing. Part Three: Saturation Marketing

That creates a very different kind of visibility. He is technically visible, but not equally accessible. Fans know things are happening, but they do not always have the full picture. Some content is public, some is scattered, some is filtered through other fans, and some is only understood through fragments. This creates a scarcity of certainty. Fans were not necessarily lacking content altogether. Rather, they were experiencing a different form of scarcity. Limited access to complete information and direct communication. The eventual introduction of Instagram marked another shift. For months, many fans had been relying on indirect visibility through brand activities, media coverage, profile changes and fan call clips. Suddenly, there was a direct communication channel. This was then followed by Weverse activity, concept photos, teaser content, promotional material and preparations for the single release. The amount of accessible information increased significantly within a relatively short period of time. For many audiences, the contrast between those two periods became just as noticeable as the content itself. This is important because scarcity is often relative. Audiences do not judge visibility in isolation. They compare it to what came before. A standard promotional cycle may feel much larger when it follows a prolonged period of limited or fragmented visibility. That distinction matters because people often think scarcity means “nothing is happening”. It does not. Scarcity can also mean that something is happening, but the audience only receives limited access to it. The result is often the same. Fans become more alert, more reactive and more likely to treat each new update as important. This is where scarcity becomes connected to attention. If an artist has been highly visible for years as part of a group, then a sudden shift into reduced or fragmented visibility naturally changes how audiences respond. Each appearance carries more weight because there are fewer appearances to compare it to. Each photo, message, schedule or update becomes more heavily discussed because fans are working with less information overall. The same can be seen in the wider ENHYPEN situation. When audiences are used to constant group activity, any change in rhythm becomes noticeable. If one side appears limited while another remains active, fans begin comparing visibility, promotion, access and communication. That comparison then becomes part of the discourse. Scarcity is no longer only about what is missing. It is also about what appears uneven, delayed, restricted or selectively available. This is why scarcity marketing can be so emotionally powerful. It does not simply make people want something. It makes people feel the absence of it. In Heeseung’s case, the upcoming solo release changes the dynamic because scarcity begins moving into a promotional phase. After a period where fans had limited information and fragmented visibility, the release cycle naturally requires more content, more clarity, more imagery, more updates and more public framing. That shift can feel intense because the audience is comparing it to the quieter period that came before it. This is not unusual. Entertainment marketing often works in phases. There may be a period of silence, then a teaser, then a concept reveal, then media coverage, then performance content, then release day. However, when the silence or limited visibility lasts long enough, the promotional wave can feel much bigger than it would have felt otherwise. That is where scarcity and saturation begin to connect. Scarcity builds anticipation by limiting access. Saturation then converts that anticipation into visibility by placing the artist, product or project in front of the audience repeatedly. The contrast between the two phases can make the promotional period feel more overwhelming, more important and more unavoidable. Continues below.

While timelines tell us what happened, they rarely explain why certain moments dominate public conversation while others quickly disappear. What interests me is the relationship between marketing, media, audience behaviour and attention.
