@GSLIS_youth @CooperLoganR @ReadingRuKaye I think this title tells us that female superheroes are just as strong and capable as any of the other male superheroes.

@GSLIS_youth @ReadingRuKaye This article really does paint a picture of why this comic is a classic and brings up points I never though of before like there being no tie-in issues to enjoy this comic and the artistic detail.

@GSLIS_youth @wordpressdotcom While it is the right of the parents to voice their concerns they shouldn't have the power to restrict the reading rights of someone else. Keeping this book in the collection should be a statement about how important it is to have material that confronts challenging issues.

@GSLIS_youth @wordpressdotcom It will help them anticipate such problems a teen will have and reading this book is a safe way of doing that. While this book is not for everyone the library has a responsibility to represent a wide range of views in the collection for it's community.

@GSLIS_youth @wordpressdotcom I'd like to think that the library could've said that this book provides a platform for communication and banning it isn't going to save teens from the harsh truths of teenage life.

@GSLIS_youth @wordpressdotcom What I meant with stylized I meant it was very distinct as if a child drew it.

@GSLIS_youth @wordpressdotcom With the girlfriend part, Dini was under the impression he had a relationship with this woman he was courting but it turns out she didn't see it that way.

@GSLIS_youth @wordpressdotcom I didn't mean to sound dismissive when I said how simple the characters were design wise. I personally thought it was a good design choice because it helps the characters stand out, even more so when you have to develop them to show how deep they can be.
