When we first met, he sat listening with a huge grin on his face. How was I to know he was gathering ammunition and getting ready to assimilate my personality.
Sharing from Narcissistic families.. this is something we all need to understand. (& why not reacting is important) We're wasting time trying to get a narcissist to feel, or respond in a way that's human.
I had the nerve to say something about his skimming money out of the account while I scramble to pay bills. A half hour later I got a notice about my Amazon account having prime cancelled. I never had prime on that account. I used it to order a security camera once.
Why is it that a narcissist with a family history of serious mental illness is always preferred over their victim. They know something is off about him but he says it's because of me.
I thought when I left my husband that I would never be alone because I'd always have my sons. But they are unconcerned about my location or my well-being.
Packed up my car a month ago and left my covert narc husband and three grown sons. Found a women's shelter that took me in. They haven't yet ask me where I'm staying or if how I am. I've stopped by to see the kids a couple times but they don't seem at all concerned about me.
You have to feel for the little guy, to much of a good thing there! Probably has one serious tummy ache 🐾🐾🦦

I keep listening, sympathetically to others problems only to have them wave me off when I want to talk. Gotta learn to walk away.
Oh, yes. Just escaped 30 years with one. I have to keep reminding myself what he is. It is immaterial to him if I stay or go. He's got our grown children still living at home for narc. supply.
Narcissists especially the covert ones are very aware of their cruelty. They KNOW not to be cruel in front of others. They deeply care about how they’re perceived. So best believe they ARE aware. They’re not that oblivious.

Texted my covert narc husband from the shelter where I'm staying to check on hurricane preps for the house. He called me, with no emotion whatsoever, and said that he and my adult children agreed I could come back. Like he was ordering a pizza or something.
One week since I packed my car and drove away, found a shelter, and said goodbye to 34 years with a covert malignant narcissist. Not sure where this will all end up but I learned something. I'm not alone!!!!!
