Watched a HS game yesterday, listened to parent comments about ref decisions. Comments misguided or completely wrong at least 50% of the time. Ended up having a back and forth with guy behind me; stupid and pointless on my part. Refs have no chance.
@PaulJSpacey The rare times that I’m on a parents sideline/stand I end up mumbling a lot of retaliations like “not a foul” “correct call” “actually he as off” etc. constantly correcting parents who don’t know the game
@jeramye If they want to ask and learn or at least be ‘fair’, I’m all for that. They have their own perspective and many need educating; they just don’t know the laws. It’s the arrogance and entitlement I can’t stand.
@PaulJSpacey @jeramye One time a random Central American parent after his kid completely took mine out said to me “Italiano de mierda” just because I explained to him that getting also the ball doesn’t mean it’s not a foul but he thought he knew better
@PaulJSpacey The bad ones are the same that moan about the coach and every decision he makes as well. Just genuinely toxic people. There are a few who will ask “was that a foul?” and truly are curious. But most are just blindly rooting for their kid to win at any cost
