If you don't feel upset and angry that many doctors are going to be unemployed, whilst cheaper, less trained staff are brought in to replace them, I question why? Maybe the powers that be have already won, or maybe you never cared in the first place? Either way it is very sad.
The senior clinicians in trusts, colleges, GMC, @NHSEngland should hang their heads in shame. This is their legacy. Yes, they may have their titles & honours now from this dreadful government, but they have lost any respect from much of the profession that cares about the future.

so in the wake of ongoing industrial relations disputes @NHSEngland -not exactly known for sure footed, sensitive, "read the room" comms has released this stuff about improving junior doctors' working lives by means other than better pay or promising not to usurp their roles

A good response by the @BritSocGastro to the PA expansion - they are listening & responding - as I have said before, there are good people in the society trying their best & trying to do the right thing @BSGTrainees keep on raising your concerns as this shows they are listening

Important time for @BritSocGastro & its members. Two open letters signed by @BSGTrainees & members raising concerns of the impact of PAs on training, and a call for a wide reaching consultation to explore the merits, concerns & appetite for PAs working in Gastroenterology.
Sadly @ChrisHopsonNHS (in a prev role) was mostly well thought of by NHS staff as one of the people that 'gets it'. Switched job (I assume it was a good promotion career wise) & now we have Chris spinning & gaslighting in the way we are all accustomed from @NHSEngland etc. Shame

The problem here is that is no longer extraordinary that decisions as BAD as this are made by @NHSEngland @NHSE_WTE @AmandaPritchard & @VictoriaAtkins. I have zero faith in them individually or collectively to make the right decisions for NHS staff. Shame on them all.

@PhilSmithIsBack If @NHSEngland @gmcuk @DHSCgovuk and incumbent @RCPhysicians leader wanted to have an honest conversation about the expense of healthcare going forward and transparent compromises, I’d have no problem It’s the iniquitous and 💯 mendacious gaslighting with zero accountability 😤

@NEndoscopy @PhilSmithIsBack @BritSocGastro @BSGTrainees Exactly this. We need endoscopists not technicians performing an endoscopy. This only comes with clinical acumen, wide knowledge and experience.

I have been previously involved in the @BritSocGastro - especially those related to @BSGTrainees. The BSG is the membership - my concern is if they are not heard - especially the future or junior members - they may not want to be involved as I was or even be members 1/2
@PhilSmithIsBack @BritSocGastro @BSGTrainees Doctors have to go through at least 5 years of post grad training before eligible to train in endoscopy. Nurses do something similar. How can a PA start training without fundamental knowledge as less trained. The most important part of an endoscope is the bit between your ears.
