Amazing catch in today's trawl! A female roughtail stingray (Dasyatis centroura). She measured 133 cm across and weighed close to 200 lbs. First such specimen in my 20 years of bio sampling Long Island Sound.

Squid eggs, tapeworms, and a giant claw! This sampler platter of bycatch was collected by our Soundkeeper crew during Wednesday's outing of the Lobster Trap Removal and Assessment Partnership we're working on w/@MaritimeAqua @Proj_Oceanology. 35 more ghost traps were hauled in.
