If you use ChatGPT for health, what does it struggle to understand about you - your history, motivations, or actual habits?
Would private memory you control and can use across AI models help?
Curious what people feel is missing, and whether this would address it.
And what today is considered 'healthy' will be a historic mystery in the same way witchcraft was once commonplace for many conditions. Health optimisation will be the only place for a continuous health frontier
I'm optimistic that a decade from now, or perhaps less, it will seem unbelievable that we used to wait nine months or more for a specialist. Years for transplants and life-saving medical care to treat diseases.
Most technologies decentralize over time.
Computers went from rooms → desks → pockets.
AI is still in the “room” phase.
The frontier models live inside gigantic centralized data centers, but inference won’t stay there forever. It will move into phones, homes, cars, wearables and local private compute.
And that creates an interesting inversion:
When intelligence becomes cheap and local, context becomes expensive.
What does the model remember?
What state does it maintain?
What information follows you between devices?
What can be compressed, discarded or reconstructed?
We’re spending a lot of time thinking about how to make models smarter.
Soon we’ll spend much more time thinking about what they should know.
You have $10. Build your post-night-shift survival kit:
$5 — 8 uninterrupted hours
$4 — Tomorrow’s plans cancelled
$4 — A completely dark room
$3 — Food already cooked
$3 — Coffee with no consequences
$2 — No lawnmowers or doorbells
$1 — Blind optimism
It’s strange that we’ll spend hundreds optimising training, diet and supplements, then casually remove 90 minutes of sleep to “get more done.”
At what point did being tired become a sign that you’re working hard enough?
There’s something ironic about spending your days building a product to help people sleep better, then catching yourself sacrificing sleep to build it.
Working on VitalEdge has made the problem feel increasingly personal.
Maybe the best products start when the builder eventually realises:
“I actually need this.”
Most of human life has been shaped by constraint.
We’ve always been able to explain away the gap between how we live and how we know we probably should: not enough time, money, energy or freedom.
We say we’d spend more time with people we love. Look after our bodies. Create. Explore. Learn. Play.
AGI may be the first time many of those constraints begin to disappear.
What happens when the excuses disappear with them?
Maybe a post-AGI world doesn’t end human purpose. Maybe it finally forces us to confront what actually gives us one.
@stillpullinfibs@deltaxbt Why spend 100s of dollars per year on something that ChatGPT with one good connector can do for free?
Genuinely interested in your perspective on this
@zarazhangrui It’s like running a marathon with the lead pack and wondering why everyone is so fast. You forget there are thousands of people behind you.
Your reference point changes faster than your progress does.
