Wow! it's been a year, but we're back to catch up and share some thoughts and experiences. Work is slow but good, not what a business should share in public but it's reality. However, we've done strides on work abroad. Here samples of a 2023 renovation.

At the city of Ventura Community Development, I'm having a bit of nostalgia moment. Nothing resembles the good old services, the somewhat stark environment, and spare staff reminds me of some sort of a book-in detention facility. Miss the friendly days.

Our first project approval of the year came in today. We're happy about that, but 3 more in the frying pan at the bldg. Dept. It's hard to wait when payment is tied to it.

None of my business, but I see quite a few people doing their interior remodeling without pulling permits. In a way, I get it. Some city building depts. take too long to review plans, and their fees are jaw-dropping. It never helps us getting new work.

Well, it took 3 days and about 7 phone calls, but today email box is apparently working, so Register is not a "buster" for now. Let's see how it goes. Fingers 🤞.

The sought-after professional plus mail from register.com turned out to be a big "buster." Regretting it that we got it for the long term, it hasn't worked properly for a week, and today a complete outage. Way to go register.buster!!

No matter what big business you call these days, it all goes to an auto responder, then to the Philippines. Those folks, although they try their best, are deprived by employers of the ability to help. In practical terms, we're regressing decades despite our great technology.

Wondering when the real activity was going to start this January, after all we were at 20th of the month and most of our days were spent organizing and getting tax info ready, but not prospective new jobs. Today that changed, we visited our first prospect for a home addition.

My eavesdrop while waiting here to resubmit my plans I learned new swimming pools are not going to be allowed as an attempt to curve water use and demand. "We are still in a forever drought," in case you didn't know!

Approaching the end of the year, I hope some cities in the county use their holiday recess to reassess their priorities, reorganize, and get their act together. I'm sitting here in Thousand Oaks B&S for 58 minutes for resubmitting plans, something that should take 15 min. Max.

I don't spend nearly any time tweeting or following people. So it always surprises me how many folks are always tweeting and find time to be productive. But maybe tweeting is being productive for them. That certainly would be a boring job for me.

The last year was the year of the "food facilities", we completed three. This year, if all materialize, will be the year of the ADU's. One is in progress already.

We've been so busy just getting the work out. Our third busiest year since covid started. Fear of the disease kept us indoors with no much to do but work.
