The real issue is why is insulin still being politicized. Insulin. For. All.

Republicans in Congress blocked President Biden’s attempt to cut the cost of insulin to $35 per prescription per month for everyone – including hundreds of thousands of children with Type 1 diabetes.

Not people calling others “illegal” as they fondly recall their last name is spelled the way it is because their great-grandpa came to the US with the equivalent of a misspelled post-it note 🥴🥴🥴

Jackson heights, NYC🫶🏼

They already have! My district is nearly 50% immigrant. We speak 100+ languages, have 2 public hospitals that treat all regardless of status/income, and still have enough left over to help states like Florida. We know how to care for each other, and are pretty damn good at it.

In Judaism, if you say a prayer over something, then fail to do the requisite action that follows, like blessing bread and not eating it, it’s a bracha levatla - which is a sinful act. If you pray for victims of gun violence but do nothing, it is a sinful act.

if yo mama ever fed me, let me sleep over, gave me a ride home from school/extracurricular activities, or even just comforted me, happy Mother’s Day to her.

Your professor destroyed a $7k medical device that is used to keep you alive. Their ableism is embarrassing. Educate. And sue.

My professor yanked my insulin pump off the table, thinking it was a phone. She broke it. Can I demand she replace it? (@legaladvice_txt) reddit.com/r/legaladvice/…

Think about this. A diabetic mom in Detroit, Michigan spends upwards of $300 for one vial of insulin. Just 7 miles away, in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, a diabetic mom pays ONE TENTH of that — around $35 — for the exact same insulin. Does that make any sense to you at all?

New moms in Denmark: guaranteed 126 days of paid leave. New moms in Canada: guaranteed 119 days of paid leave. New moms in France: guaranteed 112 days of paid leave. New moms in the United States: guaranteed ZERO days of paid leave. We must end this international embarrassment.

When I was younger, a doctor told me I wouldn’t make it to 16 because of type 1 diabetes. I’ll be diabetic 22 years next month. 🥳 celebrating with you, Dan.

As of today, I've lived with Type 1 diabetes for 60 years. When I was 7, I overheard a cousin say, "he'll be lucky if he makes it to 35." Not sure how much of this is due to genetic luck and how much is due to my d-management, but, astonishingly, here I am. Thanks, universe!

I hate how stories are framed as a "win" or "loss" for Democrats or Republicans. Paid family leave getting killed isn't "a blow to Biden" it's a blow to parents who have to pay $2,000 a month for daycare and a blow to kids who will grow up without bonding with their parents.
