There's a weird sadness I feel occasionally in response to things. It doesn't come with anger, it's just pure sadness, and it takes away the energy needed to explain what made you sad and why it did.

6th day of cold turkey from nicotine. Proper withdrawals today, took a few hours curled up in bed with cold sweats and shivers. Having quit most things there are to quit by this point, I stand by tobacco being one of the hardest things to kick. This fucking sucks. #recoveryposse

Working on quitting smoking, down from 20-30 per day to 3-5. Withdrawals are here with a vengeance. Didn't really anticipate the connections my emotions will have with withdrawals since getting clean and sober last year. I am not having fun. #RecoveryPosse #addictionrecovery

there is mental health and then there is mental illness. There is a difference - people love talking about yoga and self-care days, but get uncomfortable talking about blackouts, suicidal thoughts, manic episodes ect - and that's the problem.

Random memory of once thanking the great @matt_andersen for one of his songs playing a large part in keeping me away from suicide a few years back. As I left, he said "Thanks for sticking around". Pretty sure he meant after the gig, but it made me laugh very warmly for weeks.

a word of encouragement to anyone in the first few days/weeks or even months of recovery.. my 1st month of recovery was spent counting the seconds to get to the next minute to get to the next hour to get to the next day. time felt so slow. it DOES go back to normal #recoveryposse
